Computer scientist Spero Koulouras has ALS. It’s a fatal disease and there’s no cure. His motor functions are quickly declining, including his ability to speak. But Spero is determined to do something that's very important to him: to hold on to his independence for as long as he can—long enough that he can leave behind a world where people with disabilities can live autonomously.
