Leslie Peterson is an artist based in Salt Lake City. Before the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints published an essay called Plural Marriage in Kirtland and Nauvoo, she didn't know anything about Church founder Joseph Smith's wives. So, she set out to learn more and began to paint them the way she now sees them - as women with their own stories to tell.
CELEBRATING THE FORGOTTEN WIVES OF JOSEPH SMITH was the RadioWest pick for best film in our first Open Screen Night, a partnership with Salt Lake Film Society. It also won the audience award. To see all the short documentary films from the evening, visit the SLFS YouTube channel
