Tyler Bastian is a Utah-based filmmaker and teacher, and his piece "Everything is Incredible" is one of my favorite short docs. It's about Agustin, a Honduran man who despite being severely disabled by polio, has been building his own helicopter for the past 50 years. The helicopter, which resides in Agustin's small house, is made out of bicycle parts, rebar, and other scavenged materials. It is more an elaborate kinetic sculpture than an aircraft.
Bastian made this film three years ago, and tells us that these days Agustin is doing OK, though because of health issues, he can't live alone in his home. To save the helicopter, Agustin has gifted it to Bastian. Tyler Bastian is hoping to travel to Honduras within the year to get it.
