Meet Utah filmmaker Gary Turnier. He produces and directs short films with a focus on artists and musicians.ÿ He says that art has the power to make us better people and his films explore the creative process. Gary is Director of Photography for PBS affiliate KUED Channel 7 and he's also a guitarist; his band is called Hans Monument and he plays with the cover band Disco Drippers.
Earlier this year, he produced this portrait of Salt Lake City illustrator Desarae Lee. She works in pen, ink and watercolor washes and her images find beauty in what many people might find dark.
