A few years ago, scholar and physician Chase Peterson told me this story. Peterson was Vice-President of Health Sciences at the University of Utah when Barney Clark became the first person to receive an artificial heart at the University hospital. This is a love story, and we offer it in memory of Dr. Peterson, who died September 14th. He was 84 years old.
