This clip is from an interview with Utah artist Trevor Southey for the upcoming documentary film Art and Belief by Nathan Florence and Matt Black. The film follows Trevor and the group of Mormon artists who became known as the Art and Belief Movement as they navigate the balance of faith and art.
At the end of the interview Nathan asked Trevor what advice he would give to a young person coming out to their families. It's a beautiful insight into Trevor, who felt everything so deeply and so personally.
Trevor Southey died on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 following an illness. He was 75.
